We appreciate your patience as we work to catch up after having to cancel classes twice for the pandemic.
It is with great disappointment and sadness that, because of the rapid community spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19, our Board of Directors has decided to postpone dog training until further notice. We are hopeful that we may be able to resume again by early next year. We thank everyone for their patience at this time.
Our basic obedience class, Canine Good Citizen, is full for the remainder of 2021. We will open Club Member Registration for 2022 at a later date. Members receive early notification and usually fill classes before we announce them to the public.
We do have a few remaining spots in S.T.A.R. Puppy for puppies under 7 months old. Class begins Thursday, September 2, at 5PM for 6 weeks at Higashihara Park. Email us if you are interested.
We also have a space in Community Canine beginning Thursday, October 21, at 5:15 PM for 6 weeks. This is for dogs that have successfully completed Canine Good Citizen, to practice basic obedience skills in real-world situations. Community Canine meets at a different public location in Kona each week. Email us if you are interested.
The AKC Community Canine program is all about ensuring you have a well-behaved dog while you’re out and about in the community. Where CGC happens in a simulated environment, the 10-step AKC Community Canine test is conducted in real life situations—like walking on a busy sidewalk or through a local park–giving you and your dog the confidence to enjoy everyday to the fullest, no matter what comes your way.
Membership is required to train with Kona Coast Kennel Club. Click "Join" below to learn how.
